3Shape D2000 Dental Lab Scanner
3Shape D2000 is a medical desktop 3D scanner made by 3Shape, a manufacturer based in Denmark. The 3Shape company specializes in 3D scanners and 3D software for dental practices and laboratories. Their products target professionals such as dentists, dental laboratories, implantologists, orthodontists, and orthodontic laboratories. The main characteristics of the 3Shape D2000 desktop 3D scanner are as follows: >4 x 5 MP camera, Multi-line Blue LED >Accuracy: 5 μm (ISO) / 8 μm (Implant rod) >On-off scan time: 15 seconds & gt ;Full arc scan time: 25 seconds >Color texture scan >No need for separate die scan.
Designed to maximize dental laboratory productivity, the D2000 scanner has room to scan two models simultaneously. Highly accurate multi-line scanning technology can scan molds while they are in the model, so the entire case can be scanned in just one step.
Five new ways the D2000 streamlines dental laboratory workflows:
Optimized processing speed – creates faster performance and better scanning workflows for multiple indications – Shortens the wait time between creating an order and starting a scan, and allows technicians to start the next scan without having to wait for post-processing.
Calibrated Transfer Plate Solution – enables accurate bite capture and positioning of the model in the articulator to save steps in the workflow. Can be used with any articulator.
Impression scanning – Multi-line scanning on the D2000 and D1000 increases coverage and performance for accurate impression scanning to enable restorative designs without the need to pour plaster models.
Complete scanning for three-tray impressions – Special setup allows three-tray scanning to capture the top, bottom and bite in one scan.
Better workflow for single tray impressions– Provides support for single tray impression scanning including bite alignment.
Software upgrades are available for all relevant 3Shape lab scanner models. Current lab scanner owners will receive the upgrade as a LABcare™ software update, if applicable.
Impression scanning – The D2000 and the smaller D1000 lab scanner feature multi-line technology. Multi-line technology utilizes multiple scanning lines in a single shot to significantly improve cavity and impression capture.
This allows the D2000 to accurately scan analog impressions sent to the laboratory by the dentist. This in turn eliminates the need for laboratories to pour or cast gypsum models from molds. This saves several steps in the workflow and allows laboratories to cost-effectively print 3D models derived from analog displays when a physical working model is required.
The D2000 captivated the industry by having room for two models in its interior, allowing technicians to scan two models at once and perform complete cases such as three-unit bridges in just one scan.
